Pulp is located in the centre of the tooth and canals (root canals) inside the root area of each tooth. Pulp is defined by connective tissue, nerves and blood vessel.

When the tooth emerges through the gum it is nourished by pulp then once matured the pulp can be safely removed. Each tooth is actually nourished by a blood supply in the gum.
